Colorado's First Greg Norman Course Opens At Red Sky Golf Club June 30, 2003

Beaver Creek, Colo.-May 7, 2003-Golf in the Rocky Mountains takes on new meaning this summer with the opening of Colorado's first Greg Norman-designed golf course. The 18-hole championship course opens June 30, 2003 at Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colo., located 15 miles west of Beaver Creek and 25 miles west of Vail. Red Sky Golf Club features two championship courses designed by Tom Fazio and Greg Norman. Members and guests each enjoy their own clubhouse and alternate play daily between the two courses.

"The Greg Norman course boasts stunning views of Vail's legendary Back Bowls and features bent-grass collars unlike any other course in Colorado. A bit longer than the Fazio course located next to it, the Norman course also features smaller greens with less undulation, favoring the long-hitter that hits accurate iron shots," said Jeff Hanson, director of golf for Red Sky Golf Club.

Greg Norman Course

The Par 72 Norman Course is located at approximately 7,880 feet and plays 7,556 yards from championship tees. The course's 24,000-square-foot Member Clubhouse features lunch for members only with dining available to the public in the evenings, a lounge and bar, men's and women's locker rooms, a full-service pro shop, member-only driving range, outdoor swimming pool, bag storage, two tennis courts and a member boardroom. The Norman Course will be open June 30 - October 26, 2003.

Tom Fazio Course

Red Sky Golf Club also features a Par 72 Tom Fazio Course, which was rated in the March 2003 issue of Golf Magazine as one of "The Top 10 Courses You Can Play". The Fazio course opened in 2002 and sits at an elevation of 7,650 feet above sea level, playing 7,140 yards from the back tees. The course's dedicated 13,000-square-foot Guest Clubhouse features a restaurant with both indoor and outdoor dining, a full-service pro shop and locker rooms. The Fazio Course will be open May 2 - Oct. 26, 2003.
